Riyuu translation

So I was setting out to translate the two Ozaki Yutaka songs, and I finished them, before finding that Kaku was already done (quite recently, though, you can’t blame me for not finding it sooner). So here’s a link to Kaku (CORE), and the translation for Riyuu…

Song title: Riyuu (Reason)

Loneliness cannot be hidden by anyone
The lie of your kindness is repeating
It’s not that I’m being fooled
Because it falls above my lifestyle

Even our mutual excuses
Are being replaced by sweetness

This much, for the sake of living
Countless lights line up
Countless shadows fall
On you, whom I should have been always watching

Even I have forgotten
The unfulfilling life we’ve replaced

Your kindness is hidden in balance
Tears are falling, love is drowning

I want you to live on this scar
So the injury heals

Even though I protect you
I take your reason

Riyuu (romanji lyrics)
Performed by: Ozaki Yutaka
Lyrics & Composition: Ozaki Yutaka
Arrangement: Nishimoto Akira

Samishisa wa dare mo kakusenai
Kimi no yasashisa no uso ga kurikaeshiteru
Damasareteru wake ja nai
Seikatsu no ue koboreru kara

Amasa ni surikaeteiru
Tagai no iiwake sura

Konna nimo ikiru tame ni
Ikutsu mo no hikari ga narabu
Itsu mo miteta hazu no kimi ni
Ikutsu mo no kage ga ochiru

Boku sae mo wasureteita
Surikaeteru tarinai kurashi

Kimi no yasashisa ga balance ni kakurete
Namida wa koborete ai ni oboreteku

Kono kizu no ue ni ikite hoshii
Kizu wo iyasu you ni

Boku wa kimi wo mamoru noni
Boku wa kimi no riyuu wo ubau

*reason here refers to the synonym of ‘excuse’, instead of human reason based on logic (aka a Way of Knowing)

Anyhow, my current impression of Ozaki Yutaka is that his songs are rather melancholic and (depressing) serious…. Hmm…

Hope that was worth the wait ^^
